QUICK SUMMARY
2004
Selected as the team’s most valuable wide receiver.
Coming off a breakout season in 2003, Smith was the team’s
most experienced wideout and one of its most explosive athletes.
A precision route runner, Smith repeatedly demonstrated his
receiving ability in 2003 and 2004. The 2004 season ended with
Smith having a career-day by catching 8 passes for 160 yards
and a touchdown including an 80-yard grab against SEC powerhouse
Tennessee.
2003
Started all 12 games at wide receiver... Finished season
with single-season career highs in receptions (39), receiving
yards (595) and TD receptions (2)... Second on the team in receptions
and receiving yards... Set single-game highs in catches (9)
and receiving yards (124) at Mississippi State. Had six catches
for 91 yards versus Georgia Tech.
2002
Played in all 12 games at wide receiver, with starts
against Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee in three-receiver alignment...
Finished as team’s third leading receiver, with 19 catches
for 173 yards... Had four receptions for 58 yards at Auburn.
2001
Impressed as true freshman... Started vs. Georgia and
South Carolina, playing in 10 games... Caught nine passes for
176 yards, topping team with 19.6-yard average per reception...
Dazzled against Alabama, catching three passes for 76 yards,
including a 43-yarder.
