PLAYER BIO
Emerged as a disruptive force in the middle of the Aggies’
defensive front in his first season as a starter in 2002 …
should excel in defensive coordinator Carl Torbush’s
aggressive defensive scheme … has rare athletic ability
for player of his size … a 300-plus pounder, Jasmin
has returned a kickoff and had a pass thrown to him on a fake
punt during his career … also has a knack for blocking
field goal and PAT attempts.
2002 (SOPHOMORE): Was impressive in his first season as the
Aggies’ starting noseguard … defense line’s
top tackler and quarterback sacker … posted 66 tackles,
10.5 tackles for losses and 5.5 quarterbacks sacks while starting
all 12 games … his 68 tackles were the most by an A&M
noseguard since Sammy O’Brient posted 95 stops in 1987
… his 5.5 quarterback sacks were the most by an A&M
noseguard since O’Brient posted 7 sacks in 1985 …
posted a career-high 11 tackles against Missouri.
2001 (FRESHMAN): Produced 33 tackles, including 2 for losses,
while seeing action in all 11 regular season games …
made four starts at nose guard … had a season-high 5
tackles against three opponents — Baylor, Colorado and
Oklahoma … blocked a pair of field goal attempts …
had a pass come his way on a fake punt against Oklahoma …
fielded a kickoff against Wyoming and returned it 9 yards.
2000: Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned all-district honors after making 89 tackles
as a senior at De La Salle High School in New Orleans, La.
… only played one year of football … served as
team captain … a two-sport standout who also earned
all-district and all-Metro honors in basketball after averaging
17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds a game in basketball.
