After paying his dues as a
backup behind future Cougar NFL safeties such as Lamont
Thompson, and Erik Coleman, Abdullah had an impressive
senior campaign that displayed his natural athletic ability.
Abullah, 6’2, 215 pounds, proved to be the hard-hitter
and vocal leader the Cougars needed in 2004. He voted
WSU's defensive co-captain for 2004 and proved to be a
natural leader. His excellent size and various intangibles
alone get him noticed by professional football teams.
Abdullah has been a staple in the Cougar backfield throughout
his career and his 8 pass breakups in 2004 show how valuable
he is in pass coverage.
Born August 20, 1983. Abdullah is the son of Yusuf and
Sa’eeda Johnwell. He has 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
Attended Pomona High where he starred at safety; posted
115 tackles, forced nine fumbles and had three INTs en
route to all-league and all-valley honors as a senior
